How Much Does a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali Cost? A 2026–27 Price Review of 29 Schools
Planning a yoga teacher training in Bali and wondering what it should really cost? In September 2026 we checked the prices, inclusions and fine print of 30 Yoga Alliance-registered 200-hour trainings across Bali, each on the school’s own website. This guide shares what we found in plain terms: the usual price range, what you get at each budget tier, the extra costs that add up, and what the whole trip can cost.
We run one of those trainings ourselves, and ours is a little different: it’s 225 hours, including a 25-hour meditation teacher training. To keep the review impartial and the comparison even, we’ve left our own prices out of every average and shown them separately.

A 200-hour yoga teacher training in Bali costs US$2,858 on average in 2026–27, including the training, a shared room and meals. Most people pay between US$2,360 and US$3,450, and the full range runs from US$1,450 to US$5,252. Flights, visa, insurance and spending money add about US$500 to US$2,500 on top.

Tuition-only courses start lower, from US$1,085, but they don’t include a room or main meals. Once you add those at the schools’ own rates (about US$40 a day), none of the 10 we could price this way comes in under US$2,500 (see why).

Ten things we found
- A 200-hour yoga teacher training in Bali costs US$2,858 on average in 2026–27, including the training, a shared room and meals. Most all-inclusive packages cost between US$2,360 and US$3,450.
- Tuition-only courses in Bali look cheaper, at US$2,366 on average, but a room and meals add about US$40 a day, which brings a typical course to about US$3,270.
- Two in three Bali trainings (19 of 28) advertise a price without a room, so the first number you see is rarely the whole cost.
- A private room on a Bali teacher training costs about US$960 more on average than the cheapest shared option at the same school. Most schools charge US$400 to US$1,300 more.
- An all-inclusive yoga teacher training in Bali works out at about US$128 a day for the teaching, a room and meals.
- 8 of 29 Bali schools add a card, PayPal or payment fee of 3% to 8% on top of the advertised price. None adds Indonesian tax.
- Most 200-hour trainings in Bali last about three weeks (20 to 24 days), and 17 of 29 schools don’t say how many full days off you get.
- A Bali teacher training group has 20 students on average, but groups range from 12 to 32, and a third of schools don’t say.
- Only 4 of the 18 Bali packages with a room and meals mention airport pickup. The rest leave you to arrange it, or don’t say.
- None of the 29 Bali trainings we reviewed includes a meditation teacher certificate in its price. At least six sell meditation teacher training as a separate course.
How much does a 200-hour yoga teacher training in Bali cost?
In 2026–27, a 200-hour yoga teacher training in Bali costs US$2,858 on average for an all-inclusive package, meaning the training, a shared room and meals. Prices run from US$1,450 to US$5,252, and most packages fall between US$2,360 and US$3,450. If you’d like a room to yourself, expect to pay about US$3,750.
Courses that cover only the teaching look cheaper, at US$2,366 on average, but that’s because you pay for your room and most of your meals separately. Here’s how the three kinds of price compare:

Three schools also offer the training with three meals a day but no room, for US$2,059 to US$2,800. All figures are each school’s regular 2026–27 price, checked on 29 September 2026, before any card or payment fees (see below). One of the 29 schools doesn’t publish its prices, and many sell more than one option, so the rows overlap.
Why the advertised price isn’t the real price
The first price a school shows you is usually its lowest, and for most Bali trainings that means tuition only. Across the 28 schools that publish prices, the average starting price is US$2,456. Put every course on the same footing, with a shared room and three meals a day, and the average rises to about US$3,030.
Six schools sell the same course both with and without a room and meals, which shows what those really cost: between US$24 and US$67 a day, or about US$40 on average. Over a 22-day course, that’s roughly US$900.

So a tuition-only course that looks about US$500 cheaper usually ends up costing more, once you’ve paid for somewhere to sleep and something to eat. That holds even on a shoestring, with homestays from US$12–15 a night and local meals from about US$4, both rates the schools quote themselves.
What does “all-inclusive” actually include?
18 of the 29 Bali schools sell a package with a room and meals. With the other 11, you book your own room and buy most of your meals. Every package covers your room for the whole course, but the rest varies more than you might expect:
- Meals: three a day in 14 packages and two a day in 2; the other 2 don’t say. Several packages skip meals on days off, so it’s worth asking.
- Airport pickup: included in only 4 packages. Three say it isn’t, and 11 don’t mention it.
- Your room: the cheapest option might be a dorm, a triple or a twin share, so check what you’re comparing. Sharing with more people isn’t always cheaper: the 7 packages that put you in a dorm, triple or quad room cost US$3,214 on average.
- Extras: some packages add a course manual, books, an excursion, a massage or a ceremony. Ask for the full list, as these are easy to compare and rarely advertised up front.
What isn’t included in the price?
Even an all-inclusive price leaves a few things for you to cover:
- Flights to Denpasar (DPS).
- Visa on Arrival (e-VoA): IDR 500,000 (about US$28). It’s valid for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30, so it covers a three- or four-week course. Check that your nationality is eligible (source).
- Bali tourist levy: IDR 150,000 (about US$8) per person, paid once per trip through the official Love Bali system (source).
- Getting from the airport: only 4 of the 18 room-and-meals packages include pickup.
- Card, PayPal or payment fees: 3% to 8% at some schools (see below).
- Meals on days off, and on training days if your package covers fewer than three meals.
- Travel and medical insurance, which some schools require.
- Yoga Alliance registration, if you register as an RYT-200 after graduating: US$50 to apply, then US$65 a year.
- Spending money for coffee, laundry, rides and days off: about US$115 to US$970 over three weeks (see below).
How much spending money do you need in Bali?
Even with an all-inclusive package, you’ll spend a little each day on coffee, laundry, getting around and your days off. Most students on a three-week course spend about US$115 to US$970, depending on how much they treat themselves. Here’s what everyday things cost in Bali in 2026:

That’s roughly US$5, US$17 or US$42 a day. On a tuition-only course, add your room and meals on top, which come to about US$40 a day at the schools’ own rates (see above).
What does the whole trip cost?
The course is the biggest cost, but it isn’t the only one. Here’s what to add for the rest of the trip:

Are early-bird discounts worth waiting for?
Nearly half of Bali’s trainings (14 of 29) offer an early-bird or first-to-book discount, usually worth US$300 to US$500 and about US$370 on average. Many only apply to the first 5 or 10 people to book, or to bookings made months ahead.
It pays to compare regular prices first: a discount off a higher price can still cost more than another school’s regular price. And if you see a crossed-out “was” price, the one that matters is the price you’d actually pay.
How long is a yoga teacher training in Bali, and how many days off do you get?
Most 200-hour yoga teacher trainings in Bali last about three weeks: 22 of the 29 we reviewed run 20 to 24 days, and the average is about 23 days. Six run longer, from 25 to 28 days, and one squeezes the course into 15.
Every registered course has to cover the same 200 hours, so a shorter course simply means longer days or more study online. Days off matter as much as the total, and 17 of the 29 schools don’t say how many you’ll get. Those that do offer 2 to 5, usually 3.
How many students are in a yoga teacher training group in Bali?
On average, a Bali yoga teacher training takes 20 students, but groups range from 12 to 32. Of the 19 schools that publish a number, 9 keep groups to 18 or fewer and 7 take 24 or more. Ten don’t say at all.
Group size shapes how much practice teaching and personal feedback you’ll get, so if a school doesn’t mention it, it’s a good question to ask.
Can complete beginners do a yoga teacher training in Bali?
Yes. About half of the yoga teacher trainings in Bali (15 of 29) welcome complete beginners, with no minimum practice. Seven ask for some experience first, anywhere from 20 hours to two years, and the other seven don’t say.
Starting as a beginner doesn’t cost more, either. The 10 beginner-friendly schools with all-inclusive packages charge US$1,500 to US$3,600, or US$2,639 on average, a little below the average for all schools.
If a school asks for a year or more of practice, check whether it’s a firm rule or a recommendation: of the three that ask, only one insists.
Are yoga teacher trainings in Bali registered with Yoga Alliance?
All 29 trainings in this review say they are Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Schools, so their graduates can register as RYT-200 teachers. We only included registered schools, so if you’re looking at a course that isn’t covered here, it’s worth checking.
To check a school, search its name in Yoga Alliance’s online directory and make sure the listing covers a 200-hour program. You register with Yoga Alliance yourself after you graduate, and that fee goes to Yoga Alliance, not to the school.
Does a yoga teacher training cost more in Ubud, Canggu or Uluwatu?
Ubud has the most choice, with 13 of the 29 trainings, and an average all-inclusive price of US$2,575. Canggu and Tabanan run higher, at US$3,021 on average, and the most expensive package in the review is in north-west Bali. None of the three trainings on Nusa Lembongan sells a room-and-meals package, so there you’d book your own.

Outside Ubud there are only a few schools in each area, so treat these figures as a rough guide.
When is the best time to do a yoga teacher training in Bali?
Bali is warm all year, at about 26–31°C, and most schools run trainings every month or two, so there’s no wrong time to go. The season changes the weather, the crowds and the price of getting there more than the course itself.

Planning around Nyepi: on Bali’s Day of Silence, 8 March 2027, the whole island stays indoors for 24 hours and the airport normally suspends flights. If your training runs over that date, you’ll spend it quietly at your school, which many students love. Just don’t book a flight for that day (source).
What about hybrid, online and 300-hour courses?
This review covers 200-hour trainings taught fully in Bali, but you’ll come across a few other formats while you search:
- Hybrid courses: you study the theory online and spend 6 to 14 days in Bali for the practical part. They cost less, from about US$1,500, because you pay for fewer days on the island.
- Online-only courses: available from under US$500. Yoga Alliance accepts online hours from registered schools, but you get far less hands-on practice teaching and fewer adjustments in person.
- 100-hour courses: some schools split the 200 hours into two parts you can take on separate trips.
- 300-hour courses: advanced trainings for teachers who already hold a 200-hour certificate. Completing both lets you register as an RYT-500. Fewer Bali schools run them, and they’re outside this review.
If a hybrid or online course appeals, check that the school’s Yoga Alliance listing covers that format, and ask how many hours you’ll spend teaching real people before you graduate.
Is a yoga teacher training in Bali worth it?
For most people who want a certificate and a few weeks to go deep, a Bali training is good value: an all-inclusive course works out at about US$128 a day for the teaching, a room and meals. Whether a particular course is worth it depends less on its price than on what that price gets you. These are the things we’d compare:
- The full cost, with room, meals, transfers and any card fees, not just the starting price.
- Days off: 17 of 29 schools don’t say how many you’ll get.
- Group size: a third of schools don’t publish it, and groups run from 12 to 32.
- Who teaches: whether the lead trainers are named, and whether they teach the whole course.
- Your starting level: about half welcome complete beginners; seven ask for some experience.
- Support afterwards: mentoring, a graduate community, or the chance to repeat the course.
- Deposit, transfer and refund terms: read them before you pay.
One thing a Bali training won’t give you is the right to work in Indonesia. To teach yoga in Bali as a foreigner, you need a work permit sponsored by an Indonesian company.

How we did this review
- Which schools: 30 Yoga Alliance-registered 200-hour trainings in Bali with 2026–27 dates, one per school. We started with the schools named in widely read Bali guides and comparison pages (Global Gallivanting, Honeycombers, BaliSpirit and a school’s published price comparison), then added schools from searches for “200 hour yoga teacher training Bali”.
- Where the prices come from: each school’s own website, checked on 27 September 2026 and again on 29 September 2026.
- Which price we used: the regular price for the next 2027 intake, or the next intake if 2027 wasn’t listed. We left out early-bird, first-to-book and time-limited discounts. Where a crossed-out “was” price sits next to a lower price with no conditions or end date, we used the lower price, because that’s what you’d pay.
- Averages: simple averages of each school’s lowest price for that option. “Most cost between” covers the middle half of prices. One or two very high or low prices can move an average, so we show the full range too. The middle price (median) of an all-inclusive package is US$2,734.
- Fees: we read each school’s course, payment, FAQ and terms pages for taxes, service charges and card, PayPal or platform fees. The averages use advertised prices, and fees are shown separately. Fees charged only on refunds aren’t counted.
- Currency: converted to US dollars at Wise mid-market rates on 27 September 2026 (1 USD = 17,920 IDR; 1 EUR = 1.139 USD; 1 GBP = 1.325 USD).
- What counts as all-inclusive: the training, a room for the whole course and at least two meals a day. One package sold as all-inclusive without meal details is counted as advertised. “Tuition only” means no room and one meal a day at most.
- Meditation teacher training: on 3 October 2026 we checked each school’s 200-hour course page for a meditation teacher certificate. None includes one in its price. At least six sell meditation teacher training as a separate course, and one describes its 200-hour course as a meditation and yoga teacher training while awarding the standard RYT-200 certificate.
- Our own training is left out of every Bali average and shown separately above.
- Left out: eight schools whose pages showed no current dates or prices, and four whose websites didn’t load. One school that doesn’t publish prices counts towards the length, group-size and entry figures only.
- Limits: prices change, room types differ (dorm, triple, twin), and group sizes are published limits or typical sizes. Room-and-meal estimates use the schools’ own add-on prices.
